The Author and Poet
Henry Lombard was born on the Isidenge farm in Stutterheim and relocated to Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) at the age of two. At eleven, he experienced the profound loss of his mother—an event that shaped his lifelong journey of resilience, self-discovery, and purpose.
A devoted and present father to his two adult sons, Jéan and Chad, Henry continues to navigate life’s challenges with strength and optimism. He is an aspiring motivational speaker who actively contributes to community projects and promotes active citizenship. He also finds joy in music as a member of his church choir.
Henry is the author of Cancer Could Not Break Us, a deeply moving story of pain, suffering, strength, and resilience. His passion for literature has earned him recognition, including an award for Contribution to Literary Arts at the 2024 Eastern Cape Literary Awards.
He is a member of Poets Vannie Baai and has contributed poetry to the anthology Voices of Gqeberha. Through his writing, Henry seeks to inspire hope, courage, and healing in others facing adversity.
